Hey everyone.I Have been thinking of replacing the 2 speakers in my Blackstar HT-60 2x12
I play mostly hard rock A little blues. But my main thing Is the Hard 70`s 80`s & 90`s Bands.
I really Love From most of the hard rock made from Zeppelin toOzzy to Priest/ Maiden. Even some of the early 90`s s
I heard good things about WGS on one of the guitar forums & had to check it out. When I noticed the Prices & the fact
they are made here in the USA.I was sold.I was wondering what you would reccomend for the sound I am after. My
current amp has 2x12`s & is 60 watts.Years ago I had an Amp that had Celestions Vintage 30`s I seemed to like the
sound. But I was much younger & less experianced so not sure If the Veterans make sense for what I like.Or if a
combination of 2 would be better? Thanks appreciate the help.
"Zeppelin to Ozzy to Priest/ Maiden" Sounds like a pair of Invaders for sure (Classic Green Back voice)
But then...
"Even some of the early 90`s" ... now your getting in the land of the Vet 30.
Overall, though, I'm tending to lean towards Invaders ... but just barely ...
Thanks Vaughn ,Since posting here I have checked out some of your videos on Youtube. Some very interesting comparisons. I did have a second question for you. I did check out the Vet 30`s comparison to the vintage 30 Celest.
For my ears,I thought the WGS speakers sounded much nicer.ALthough tone is a preferance I preferred the WGs to the celestions. I did not see a comparison for Vet 30 & Invaders.
Can you tell me a bit about the range of tone the Invaders have that are a bit different then the Vet 30`s? It is kind of hard when switching Vids & I did not find a side by side. Greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
They are quite similar ... but the classic GB voice (Invader) is a bit more warm ... organic ... "vintage" ...
