I just got a DSL40C. I know most people are digging the Veteran 30 with it but I am not sure. I have not been a fan of the Celestion Vintage 30 that it is related to.

My IDEAL MARSHALL TONE is Clapton Beano to somewhere between Jimmy Page live in the late 60s to early 70s or Gary Moore Blues Alive album. I get there with my main amp, a JCM800 50 watt into a 1960A loaded with G12L-35s. I got the DSL40C because I wanted something portable but with close as possible to the same tone. The DSL40C sounds great into my 4X12 but way too boxy and bright on its own.

I am thinking Reaper HP, maybe Invader. Anybody want to help steer me?

Yea dude ... sounds like the Reaper HP fits the bill for you.
