hi confused and wondering here, i need 2 good twelves and i'm pretty set on the hm75 in the amp.
the extesion (small peavey closed back) i'm still unsure pairing different types is new to me. i like the
lead 80 but read here they are similar, the retro suggested in lieu sounds nice but i think i need @
leat 50 w in cab (60w amo) i really like the g12 c/s (red american one) any thoughts? the whole
reason for this being i need heavy as you could imagine but also love acoustic, classical , old rock
bascally everything - so i don't want to be backed into a corner. i believe i may only require a 50w
but i seem to like the sounds of the higher ones. i usually play fairley loud if that helps, i think i
could benefit from jangle to go with my crunch. any advice or knowledge would be highly
useful and greatly appreciated, rock on - cnaztheman7
Yea ... if you are going with HM75's in the combo ... then go Ret 30's in the ext cab, FOR SURE! (The Ret 30's are 75-watt btw)
thanks vaughn , i am stoked toget my hm tomorrow. i actually wound up getting a randall rd40 diavlo and the speaker in it is a v30 clone. so i'll get an idea of how retro might sound with the hm75 (big grin). from everything i've heard and read i'm really gonna be happy with that combination. i just keep wondering about the compatibility of the american g12c/s because it is my 2nd favorite from sound clips. i dont know about decible differences, cone sizes etc. if you have any thought on if they could work well together or not please share. p.s. my recent intrest in surf music might be encouraging all of this...
oops and wow! i got my hm75 today and it sounds phenomenal
but i discovered my extension cab is a 10" not sure which speaker would pair best now. mabye anybody has a thought
and again i can't say enough about how stellar the difference is.
Easy one! G10C ... I actually FAR(!!) prefer it to the G12C ...
You're gonna LOVE it ...
