Pic Wars - The Pics Strike Back (quest for the ultimate plectrum part 2)

If you have not yet ... go back and read Part one of this blog.  This time around, I'm gonna shut up and let the pics do the talking ... okay, truth be told, I still do way too much talking ... but this week I'm doing it via video; take a look:

See ya next week fellow tone junkies!

Damn fine sounding guitar, wish you would have played it a little more!  Thanks for the pic demo, though.

Hi Vaughn -

Thanks for the demo.  I thought you did a relatively good job at minimizing talk.

I wanted to point out (no pun intended) that, from my experience, I've found that the same pick material and thickness can still be altered by the pick shape.  You can fine-tune the highs on the attack by shaping, from pointy (more) to rounded (less) - within the range of what that material and thickness allows.  Of course, the feel is changed as well.  Though we can't experience that ourselves from your video, I'm sure you'll agree that choosing a pick with one's preferred feel is pretty important.

Glad to see (and hear) a fellow tone nut obsessing the small stuff!

Best,

  - Thom
