Well I finally got a chance to crank  my falcon amp  to 10 and it sounds like the speaker cone is torn.  But I was going to try a new speaker anyway....  The amp guy said this one was actually putting out 10w not 15w like all the original advertising suggested.  But it's still prettty loud. I'm not complaining.  I've watched the speaker shoot out for the delxue reverb on youtube and found it very interesting. Hard to make a choice from all those speakers. I'm gonna be messing around with classic rock mostly (tull, skynryd, ABB, hair metal) so that's the sounds I like and I'll use a pedal to dirty up the signal for heavier crunch.  What ever the choice, I want to maintain a good clean tone.

Thanks, matt

Go with the light G12Q if you want to keep it voiced as original ... or ... go with a Reaper to take it a little more into loud, big, Britt land.

Thanks for the response.  I didn't know the original C12R was bad till i turned it up. Maybe that first blast at full volume cause the issue... who knows.   I did like the ET-65 from the DR speaker test video.  Would that be a good choice to tame the highs a little? This is a bright amp at times.

Thanks, Matt

Oh yea, you can almost never go wrong with the ET65!

I had a Hawk ... almost the same amp with a Jensen 15.  They can be tough to keep running ... but coool old amps!
