Yet another request for suggestions and recommendations about speakers for a 1988 model Marshall 1960a 4x12 with factory G12T-75's powered by a hot rodded 1995 JCM900 100w 2-channel head.  Amp/cab sound great now, want it to be outstanding yet stay close to factory speaker wattage.

Current thought is to put two G12C/S -75w and two Retro 30 - 75w (all four 16ohm) in an X pattern

or

Two 80w Liberators and two 75w Retro 30's

Music influence/style is Led Zep, Satriani, Zakk, various 80's metal, Gary Moore, Bonamassa, KWS, ZZtop.  Very little if any Drop D sounds.  Mostly humbucker equipped guitars with one lonely three single coil strat.

Other amp is a Line 6 Spider III 1x12 with an 80w Liberator.  Love it but don't want to mirror the sound it has.

thx

Go w/the Libs & the Retros ... there's just something wrong with putting a G12 in a 1960 :-)

Don't worry about it sounding too much like the Lib equipped Line6 ... it's a TOTALLY different animal ...
