I have an early 70's peavey classic 212 50watt. I use the normal channel, treble at 2, Bass noon. I really want to try the g12cs, but I don't know what to pair with it. My thought was the reaper 55 but I'm just not sure. It might get too bottom heavy. Not that there is such a thing. Ha ha. In reading what others have done with peavey amps (tho not the same one) the et 65 seems like an option.  I know nothing about matching watts, spl, etc. The output says 4 ohms.  Need some advice! I love SRV' huge sound and Hendrix ' fat tone. I have an old gretsch tho not a strat.

Allow me to be clearer. This amp is way too bright and lacks character. It gets crazy loud with no breakup at all, unless you roll the master back and top the channel volume. I'd like some breakup but more importantly some chime or bell like tonality. I play in a smaller church (300) and at home so headroom is not my focus. If anyone has experience with these old bullet proof hybrids please give me your opinion. I am not opposed to going to a 15" either. Or am I just wasting time and money trying to liven up this antique?

FOR SURE!  Don't question ... go toward the light ... why?

The ET-65 IS(!!) the Rx for that!

Very interesting! Thank you! From reading your bio and watching the videos you have made I value your opinion and expertise!
