Dear mister Scow,
I'm a guitarist from the Netherlands and I've played Marshalls for over 30 years. Lately, I finally bought myself a Vox, a Vox AC30S1 and I do like it very much.
I'm pairing it from time to time with a Marshall Valvestate for extra dirt (I'm still a "Marshall-man"). The Marshall is the dry, the Vox the wet. The Marshall has got an et90 speaker in it, which is really great and though the stock speaker from the VOX isn't bad, I'd like to replace it for a WGS. I've read many topics on this forum and I was confinced to get me a Blackhawk, but somewhere I've read an Invader 50 would give a nice "marshallesque" sound (as you've put it).
So actually my question is simple. Does an et90 pair well with an Invader 50 or is still the Blackhawk, in your opinion, the better one?
Thank you for you time and answer,
greetings from the Netherlands
Eduard.
Hummm .... thew Blackhawk would be a little more in the Vox tone family, and the Invader would be more Marshall. So the question is, do you WANT it to sound more, or less like the Marshall? :-)
